Quadrilateral and Rhombus: The Most Challenging Math Words for My Students

Some words are really challenging for my Grade 7s. Although they are good with numbers, some of them have real headache with some words. Quadrilateral and rhombus are the most difficult ones for them. Here are some lovely photos from a unit test:

What Can You Do For Others?

We have finished the first round of teaching in Thanlyn government school last Saturday. Today some of the grade 7 students presented what we have done there in the assembly.

I thank all my students for their effort in this project and wish them in the second round starting this weekend.

Unit Test Time and Comet Landing

Second Unit Tests for the grades 7 and 8 are ready. Grade 7 Unit 11 Test is on Thursday, Nov 13, 2014. Grade 8 Unit 13 Test will be on Tuesday Nov 18, 2014.

----

Meanwhile enjoy Rosetta's landing on a comet. For the first time in history, a spacecraft from Earth has landed on the face of a comet speeding through deep space.

The European Space Agency's Philae lander on the Rosetta spacecraft made its nail-biting, history-making touchdown on the Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko today (Nov. 12) and quickly fired its harpoons into the icy target to anchor itself on the strange landscape. The landing ended what some scientists had dubbed "seven hours of terror" - the time it took for Philae to descend from Rosetta as the spacecraft and comet flew through space about 317 million miles (510 million kilometers) from Earth. Rubik's Cube Solved in 20 Moves (or less)

I know I have some students who are really interested in Rubik's cube. Some of them can even be called as experts. Unfortunately Rubik's cube is something difficult for me and I get bored so easily (or I lose hope to solve it).

Here is a lovely infographic for Rubik's cube lovers. Enjoy!
